South Shore Tiki Lounge will be hosting an art opening for surfer and artist Dino Miranda on Thursday May 3rd starting at 9pm. He will be showing some of his original artwork including his latest Fire In The Sky and Just After The Storm. Acrylic on canvas and retouched lithrographs of Tahitian Dream 2 and others will be available for sale the month of May. DJ Blast will turn it up at 10pm, so come down and support Dino and score some tasty drinks and pizza while you’re at it. See you there!

On Thursday, April 5th at South Shore Tiki Lounge, we have a very special art opening with California tiki artist Doug Dorr, plus music from the cool cats of BSOS Radio: DJ Cudra Clover, Benny Lava, and Toben will be throwin’ down the exotica, lava lounge and jungle beats. And drink specials fit for the island vibes. $3 Heinekens, $4 Sneaky Tikis, and $5 Blue Hawaiians. The South Shore Tiki Lounge presents Randall Rospond’s “Liquid Rose Toons!” Art Show Opening on Fri. March 2 , 2012 4 – 9 pm. As Randall poses, “A contradiction in Artistic Terms … or Not?” This diverse show highlights many varied styles and mediums while covering a vast range of subjects — some : soft, sensitive, spiritual, natural, artistic … others : brash, harsh, urban and even punk … some skateboarding , some surfing , some psychedelic , some cartoon. Big artistic mahalos to Sandra Conway for her photo assistance and Geoff Coolidge for his computer assistance. The show will be on display at South Shore Tiki Lounge for the month of March.

Whether documenting musicians, his travels, or the recent Tedx Maui event, photographer Sean Michael Hower always puts his personal stamp on his impressive body of work. Opening on Sunday, January 29th at 8pm, he will have his first solo photography show at the South Shore Tiki Lounge. Kanoa, a musician Sean loves to capture, will be playing at 10pm. Come support!

You may have caught Kihei artist Reuben Cantere’s work on the walls of Maui Thing, the surfboard sign at South Shore Tiki Lounge, or this amazing piece in Lahaina. We are excited to feature his latest work for the month of December at Tiki with an opening this Thursday, Dec 8th.

Kihei, skate, surf and his recent trip to Tahiti all inspire this art show so come down, support, and spread the word!

Going Wild + Wicked this Sunday

South Shore Tiki Lounge presents WILD + WICKED – a nature-inspired art and costume party in support of Plant a Wish on Sunday, October 30th at 9pm.

Come dressed as a wild and wicked creature of the night and enjoy art from Maui’s most creative artists: Jaisy Hanlon, Daniel Sullivan, Luana Coonen, Dr. Gary Greenberg, Gabriel Mott, Rachel Gonzalez, Debra Rice Casey, Lelilani Hasbrock, Teddi Martinez, Yvette Yvelle and more… Kanoa on the mic at 10pm.

Plant a Wish is a native tree planting awareness project holding native tree planting ceremonies in all 50 states, and will culminate in a documentary film. A portion of proceeds any art sold during the exhibit will be donated to Plant a Wish as well as 10% of dinner sales on opening night. The Plant a Wish tour closes out right here in Hawaii on November 5th so let’s celebrate Sara and Joe’s remarkable accomplishment and help them reach their goal!
